WHAT WE RAN INTO
The existing foundation was never designed to carry a second floor, and the house sat close to the height limit. Engineering added interior shear walls and footings, and we set the roof pitch to keep the design inside the limit without a variance.
THE RESULT
The family doubled their bedroom count without moving, and the original downstairs footprint was left intact.
