- Final cost
- $66,000
- Duration
- 7 weeks of construction
- Size
- 190 sq ft kitchen in a 1920s Spanish bungalow
- Permits
- Long Beach Development Services, permitted and inspected
SCOPE OF WORK
- Demolition to studs, keeping the original arched doorway
- New cabinetry, tile counters and open shelving
- Complete rewire of the kitchen circuits
- New copper supply lines replacing galvanized pipe
- Vented range hood and new lighting
WHAT WE RAN INTO
The owners wanted the kitchen to still read as 1920s Spanish, not a modern insert. We kept the arched doorway, used handmade-look tile and picked hardware to match the era, while everything behind the walls went brand new.
THE RESULT
A kitchen that looks original to the bungalow with none of its original pipe or wire.
